To determine the distance to a galaxy using this graph: first find
the Distance Modulus (mV-MV) along
the horizontal axis (x-axis), go up to the diagonal line which
corresponds to the relation between Distance Modulus and actual distance,
then read across to the vertical axis (y-axis) to get the actual distance
measure. Write the corresponding value of the distance in the correct
blank on your answer sheet.
Another version of the
Distance Determination graph with a different scale - you may find it
easier to read.
