About Jacqulyn.

When I was in middle school I taught myself numerous hobbies to occupy myself. Knitting, sewing, drawing; after a while I began to notice a pattern. I loved to create and make things, and as I started high school I channeled even more creative energies through choir, forensics, and theater performances. As I was selecting colleges I decided I wanted to continue to create, but make it into a career. As a result, I chose to attend school at the University of Michigan-Flint to major in Visual Communications.

Today

As a university student working toward becoming a designer I have learned many skills. I have added many to my list of childhood hobbies. Some are for myself, including woodwork and spray painting. However I have also greatly advanced my design skills gaining personal development in photography, digital design, animation, and digital editing. I have even self-published and sold a comic book created in a university class. Recently I have discovered a love for web design, specifically working with HTML, CSS and BootStrap. Along with learning physical skills I have been honing my skills as a professional: I take good direction and am a good listener, I am very dedicated to the task at hand and am not afraid to step into a position of leadership if required to do so. I am becoming a proficient designer, and have taken the inspiration for creating I discovered from a young age and used it to shape my future goals. While my short term goals involve being able to eat and pay bills simultaneously, I wish to find a job designing when I graduate, preferably advertisements or webpages.
