Introduction
Imagine you are a 5th grade teacher. You currently teach in a teamed environment in which you teach mathematics and science, and the teacher you are teamed with teaches language arts and social studies. On your team you have a student, Robby, who was recently identified as having learning disabilities in mathematics and reading.
The IEP team has scheduled an AT Consideration meeting and both you and the other team teacher have been asked to identify possible tools that will enable Robby access the general education curriculum and help him be more successful.
Believing that students should not be held back from learning deep mathematical concepts due to poor computational skills, you are excited to start researching in order to find just the right tools to help Robby!
